Pittsboro, NC – Chatham County Center-NC Cooperative Extension will be offering Junior Chef cooking programs for youth this summer entitled “Being Creative in the Kitchen”. These week-long programs are designed to help youth developed the life skills to prepare them for healthy long lives, have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of different foods and become more comfortable in the kitchen. Designed for youth ages from 9 to 15 years old. Class time is from 9:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Cost is $75 per youth, which covers supplies and literature. Enrollment is limited to 8, so first come, first serve. FEES are NON-REFUNDABLE. The location of the programs will be at the Chatham County Cooperative Extension building in Pittsboro.
“Being Creative in the Kitchen-Part A” youth programs will run the weeks of June16 to June 20 and June 23 to June 27. “Being Creative in the Kitchen”- Part B” youth programs will run the weeks of July 14 to July 18 and July 21 to July 25.The first two weeks will have different menus from the second two weeks. These classes are filled with hands-on-activities learning new ways to safely cook the foods kids love. It will be a week filled with learning new cooking methods (from grilling to boiling) and physical activity. Only 8 students per class are accepted so register early!
