Pittsboro, NC – The National Gingerbread House Competition™ that is held at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC, inspired the Chatham County 4-H to have its own 4-H Gingerbread House Competition. This event is open to children and adults who live in Chatham County.

To follow the guidelines of social distancing due to the pandemic and to help keep everyone safe, this year’s Holly Jolly Gingerbread House offers a photo contest for gingerbread creations. Participants will submit a photo of their gingerbread creation as their entry. These photos will be displayed and judged online.
This competition is open for photo entries from November 16 through December 7, 2020. Winners will be announced on December 18 at 1 p.m. on the 4-H and Cooperative Extension’s Social Media channels.

Chatham County 4-H will also host a virtual 4-H Holly Jolly Afterschool Crafting Workshop December 18 from 3 to 5 p.m.
Participants must pre-register for this event. Registration closes December 9th at 5:00 p.m.
***Craft kits will be available for pick up on December 14. Crafting workshop and kits are limited to Chatham County residents, and kits must be picked up at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center in Pittsboro. Kits are limited to 45.
