$87K in arts grants available for Chatham Arts organizations

Pittsboro, NC – Are you part of an arts organization and are finding it difficult to weather this pandemic? The Chatham Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council are here to help us as arts orgs in Chatham – including your organization.

Here’s the Deal

As part of North Carolina’s spending plan for federal CARES Act funding, $9.4 million was designated to provide direct aid to local arts councils and arts organizations in an effort to mitigate business disruptions caused by COVID-19. Chatham Arts Council is working with the North Carolina Arts Council to distribute and administer more than $87,000 of NC CARES for Arts dollars right here in Chatham County to help with the losses caused by COVID-19. That’s $87,000 for those of us doing this work!

We know this will not come close to ameliorating the current and ongoing impact to the arts community–but it is one piece toward sustaining us all through this crisis.

Who is Eligible?
   – 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organizations
   – Businesses whose primary operations are in visual, performing, or literary arts
   – Unincorporated arts groups applying with a fiscal agent

What’s the Turn-around?

The deadline to submit your application to the Chatham Arts Council is Monday, November 9.
