Chatham County residents invited to provide input on master plan for parks & recreation

Pittsboro, NC – Over the next few months, Chatham County Parks & Recreation Department will be developing a Comprehensive Master Plan, with the help McAdams consultants and community partners. The plan will guide the future of county parks, recreation programs, facilities and more over the next ten years.

The planning process kicks off with opportunities for residents to provide valuable input that will be the foundation of the master plan. The three public open houses will use a drop-in format, where residents can stop by anytime. The purpose is to give residents ways to share their values, wants and needs for parks and recreation.

“We are excited about the Comprehensive Master Plan and hearing what people have to say,” said Chatham County Parks & Recreation Director Tracy Burnett. “I encourage the citizens to attend one of the public input meetings. We also have a survey in the works that will provide another way for residents to share feedback.”
