Pittsboro, NC – September is National Literacy Month, and Chatham Literacy will be spreading the word about the importance of literacy in our community. You can help promote literacy by participating in one or all of these fun activities and events.
Chatham Literacy’s 2016 campaign theme – Literacy: Never too young! Never too old! – will be featured on T-shirts designed by the winner of a new Chatham Literacy contest. Submissions are being accepted until July 31, and selection will be announced on August 5. Details on the contest are available at www.chathamliteracy.org.
Order a T-shirt now through September and you’ll reap rewards for an entire year. Anyone wearing a 2016 literacy T-shirt to participating businesses on the first Tuesday of each month will receive a discount that day.
The scope of the campaign has grown this year, with Orange Literacy and Durham Literacy co-sponsoring the T-shirt design contest and offering the winning T-shirt with their logo in their counties.
