Pittsboro, NC – The 2016 Chatham County Schools middle school basketball tournament took place last week in spite of inclement weather on Monday. First round games were played on Tuesday night at the higher seeded schools based on regular season records. The second round and championship games were hosted at Pollard Middle School on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Teams advancing to the second rounds were:
Girls – Chatham Middle, Pollard, Horton, and Bennett
Boys – Silk Hope, Horton, Pollard and Bonlee
Teams advancing to the Championship rounds were:
Girls – Pollard and Bennett (Bennett won)
Boys – Pollard and Horton (Pollard won)
People who were not able to attend the tournament were able to listen to Siler City’s WNCA 1570 AM radio station. The station covered the Chatham Middle School Basketball Tournament live.
