2024 All-ACC men’s lacrosse team and award winners

Charlotte, NC – Notre Dame claimed four of the five season awards and led all schools with seven all-conference honorees as the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Season Awards and All-ACC Team were announced Tuesday.

The All-ACC Team and award winners were determined by a vote of the league’s five head coaches.

Notre Dame graduate goalie Liam Entenmann repeated as both the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year. ND graduate attackman Pat Kavanagh was voted the league’s Offensive Player of the Year, while Fighting Irish head coach Kevin Corrigan was tabbed ACC Coach of the Year for the first time.
North Carolina attackman Owen Duffy claimed Freshman of the Year honors.
Led by Entenmann and Kavanagh, seven Fighting Irish players earned spots on the All-ACC Team, with Eric Dobson, Will Donovan, Chris Kavanagh, Will Lynch and Ben Ramsey also making the team. Duke and Virginia each had four honorees, while Syracuse had three and North Carolina picked up one as Duffy was the lone freshman to make the team.
Entenmann is the first player to repeat as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year since Notre Dame’s Matt Landis won the award in 2015 and 2016. He also has captured the Goalie of the Year Award in both years of its existence, as the honor was created last season. Entenmann has recorded a 9.86 goals-against average and .527 save percentage while racking up 117 saves (10.64 per game) this season. He has played some of his best lacrosse down the stretch, recording double-digit saves in four straight games and in six of his last seven outings as the Fighting Irish have reeled off eight straight wins.
Pat Kavanagh owns 19 goals and 34 assists for 53 points this season. His 4.82 points per game average ranks third in the ACC, while his 3.09 assists per game is second. On Saturday, he set the Notre Dame career points record with 274, breaking a 29-year-old school record. Kavanagh spearheads a Fighting Irish offense that ranks second nationally in goals per game this season at 15.82.
Duffy totaled 32 goals and 22 assists for 54 points this season. His 2.67 goals per game and 4.5 points per game lead all ACC freshmen and each rank fifth among all ACC players, while his 2.07 assists per game also is best among ACC freshmen and seventh among all ACC players.
Corrigan led the Fighting Irish to a 10-1 regular-season record, including a 4-0 mark in the ACC, the second unbeaten ACC regular season in program history. It is Notre Dame’s best regular-season mark since also going 10-1 during the 2015 season. Notre Dame will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship. The Irish are 5-0 against top-10 teams this season, tying the program record for most regular season top-10 wins in a season, set in 2013.

The 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship will be played Friday and Sunday, May 3 and 5, at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tournament returns for the first time since the 2019 season and will be played in Charlotte for the first time.
The Friday semifinals feature No. 1 seed Notre Dame playing No. 4 seed Virginia at 5 p.m. and No. 2 seed Syracuse facing No. 3 seed Duke at 8 p.m. The championship game will be played at noon Sunday, with all three games this weekend airing on ACC Network.
In the NCAA’s latest RPI, released Monday, four ACC teams are among the top six: Notre Dame (1), Duke (3), Syracuse (4), and Virginia (6).
