Pittsboro moving town hall location to Main Street Station

By Colby Sawyer,
Pittsboro Public Information Officer & Emergency Management Coordinator

Pittsboro, NC – Effective Tuesday, January 16, 2024, the Pittsboro Town Hall will be relocating from its current position to a different facility located in the Main Street Station (287 East St, Suite 221, Pittsboro, NC 27312). This move, which is necessary due to the Town needing more space for the growing police department, will change how the Town interacts with residents and utility customers.

First, customers who choose to pay their utility bills in person will no longer be able to use the drive-thru to give payment to the Customer Service Specialist. The dropbox, located in the drive-thru, will still be available. Customers who pay their bills in person must come inside the new Town Hall facility to handle their payments. The Town encourages customers to visit the town website HERE  to explore the various ways to pay utility bills.

Second, the Pittsboro Police Department will assume sole occupancy of the existing Town Hall location at 635 East Street. The Town will release additional information as the Town finalizes available public services and hours of operation for the expanded Police Department facility.

Third, to facilitate the move to their new location, town offices will be closed on Thursday, January 11, and Friday, January 12, to allow staff time to move equipment and files into the new Town Hall location. Town Offices will also be closed on Monday, January 15th, 2024, in observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day. Customers are encouraged to handle in-person needs with the Town before January 11 or after January 16.

We appreciate the patience of our community and customers as we work through this move, and we look forward to providing high-quality customer service at our new location. We will release additional information regarding the new locations for each department as soon as we have reopened on January 16th.
