Sanford, NC – Central Carolina Community College celebrated the 14th Dental Hygiene graduating class at the annual pinning ceremony on Wednesday, May 11, at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center.
This group of students applied to the program and accepted their seats in spring of 2020 during the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak. Despite the many obstacles of completing the program, these students fulfilled all the required patient care skills and competencies. CCCC Dental Hygiene officials say they are proud of the class efforts to continue to provide oral care to the patients of the local area and earn their Associate in Dental Hygiene degrees.
Class members – with home counties listed — are Jonah Boyd (Chatham County), Holly Carthen (Moore County), Hannah Cole (Chatham County), Noelle Dominick (Wake County), Virginia Nicole Hamilton (Moore County), Megan Heinz (Lee County), Heidi Jester (Lee County), Elizabeth Jordan (Harnett County), Samantha Jordan (Lee County), Erin Kaukereit (Wake County), Savannah Sanders (Chatham County), Meredith Stewart (Harnett County), Stacy Thomas (Harnett County), Emma Underhill (Chatham County), Ashley Villafana (Harnett County), Macie Watson (Lee County), and Ashley Williams (Harnett County).
Guest speaker for the program was Dr. Bonnye Anthony, CCCC Dental Programs Dentist. Student Class Speaker was Meredith Stewart. Slide Show was presented by Megan Heinz, Class Historian. Introduction of Graduates and Awards were by Dental Faculty members Vicky Wesner, Danielle Bruner, Macy Woods, Crystal Sanders, and Dr. Fernanda Perry.
Danielle Bruner presented the Welcome. Dalton Davis was Special Instrumental Guest. Andrea Faust led Recitation of Pledge.
