Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department’s youth basketball program will begin on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at several locations across Chatham County and will run through the end of February.

Due to COVID-19, the basketball program will be modified this year. Rather than the traditional team and game format, the program will focus on individual skill development, small-group skill development, and limited scrimmages. Participants will be grouped into age-based, self-contained pods at five regional locations. Please note that as with all Parks and Recreation programs and events during the pandemic, they are subject to change.
This is a coed program for children ages 6-18. There is a fee of $40 for Chatham County residents and a $50 fee for non-residents. Participants will have a total of 10 practices. The regional practice locations to choose from include Horton Middle School, Chatham Grove Elementary School, JS Waters School, North Chatham Elementary School, and Silk Hope School.
Registration for youth basketball will be open from November 19 to December 21, 2020. The registration form can be found on the Parks and Recreation website at chathamnc.org/parks-recreation. However, due to a recent cyber incident, online payment and credit card payment processing are currently not available. Payments for the program may be made by cash or check and be submitted in person or by mail.
