Chapel Hill, NC – The North Carolina Tar Heels remained perfect on the season with a 56-45 victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies. Tar Heels quarterback Sam Howell threw for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns on a very efficient 18 for 23 passing. The North Carolina ground game tallied 399 yards, 214 by Michael Carter and 169 by Javonte Williams, each of whom rushed for 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Dyami Brown caught 3 passes for 86 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Dazz Newsome hauled in 7 receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Running back Khalil Herbert rushed for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss.
