Pittsboro, NC – The Mary Hayes Barbara Holmes Park in Pittsboro is in need of renovation. The seesaw is a safety hazard, and there is an abundance of trash and mosquitoes. The climbing stumps are rotting and need to be replaced, as well as the standing water removed, trash picked up, and the seesaw replaced with a safer slide. Although the park is good for adults and older children, younger children have fewer things to do without their safety being at risk.
Individuals need to work together by petitioning the Pittsboro Parks and Recreation planner, Paul Horne, to win back this opportunity for young children to get outside and combat nature deficiency disorders.
