Reenactment of the life of Harriet Tubman on September 29 in Pittsboro

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Historical Association invites you to The Spirit of Harriet Tubman, a moving reenactment of the life of Harriet Tubman. The performance is Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the historic Chatham County Courthouse in Pittsboro.

Diane Faison portrays Harriet Tubman.

Tubman, who was enslaved, escaped and helped others gain their freedom as a “conductor” of the Underground Railroad. She also served as a scout, spy, guerrilla soldier and nurse for the Union Army during the Civil War.

Diane Faison is a retired teacher, actress, visual artist, speaker and writer who has created a one-woman performance that enables her audience to take a step back in time and meet “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman.”
