Pittsboro, NC – During the April Chatham County commissioner meeting there was a presentation made in favor of removing the confederate statue in front of the historic courthouse in Pittsboro. There was also some public input made. (Videos of the statue discussion are located here.)
On the agenda for the May 6 commissioners meeting there will be a presentation in favor of keeping the statue in front of the courthouse. There will also be a presentation by Chatham County historian Gene Brooks. Mr. Brooks was able to provide a brief three minute statement at the April meeting.
