Chatham Cooperative Extension offers options for summer camps for young people

Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Center of NC Cooperative Extension announces that it is time for young people to register for an array of summer camp programs for various age groups. Most of these programs are very popular and slots fill up fast.

The Chatham camp options include:

  • 4-H Adventure Day Camp at the county’s Northwest Park, Ages 6-12
  • Science Overnight Camp, 4-H Science Camp, Cloverbud Animal Science Edition, Ages 5-8
  • 4-H Science Camp, Digging Deeper with Junior Master Gardners, Ages 10-14
  • Jr. CHEF Program, Ages 9-14
  • Teen CHEF Program, Ages 14-17
  • Boys Cabin Overnight at Betsy Jeff Penn Camp, Reidsvlle, Ages 8-14
  • Girls Cabin Overnight at Betsy Jeff Penn Camp, Reidsville, Ages 8-14

Chatham County teens age 13-18 also can apply to participate in the MyPl NC Youth Preparedness Day Camp, an award-winning program that helps young better prepare for emergencies and disasters and learn about possible careers in emergency management.
