Pittsboro, NC – Horton Middle School center Te’Keyah Bland needed 14 points to become presumably the first middle school basketball player to score 1,000 points in the history of Chatham County Schools.
She achieved that goal when the Wildcats hosted J.S. Waters School this evening in the first round of Chatham County’s middle school basketball tournament.
Bland headed into the postseason averaging roughly 20 points per game.
Bland is 5-10 ½ and versatile. She also spends playing time as a forward. Te’Keyah will be attending Northwood High School next school year.
