Chatham County schools closed September 13 & 14 due to Hurricane Florence

Pittsboro, NC – Chatham County Schools has announced that they will be closed for students and staff on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14 due to the changing Hurricane Florence forecast that has consistently included the strong potential for tropical force winds. torrential rains, downed trees, and flooding during the school day.

180912 11 am hurricane florenceThis decision, which will allow families additional time to prepare for the storm, was made in close consultation with local emergency management officials, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, and the National Weather Service.
