Pittsboro, NC – The Chatham County Council on Aging recently presented its new 2018-2023 Aging Plan to help guide their work for the next five years. The plan will work in tandem with the Chatham County Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2017 by the Board of Commissioners.
As part of the planning process, the Council on Aging convened a steering committee representing all areas of Chatham County. The process included three community forums in November 2017 were designed to get ideas from Chatham residents of all ages. Attendees identified ideas and also helped develop the top five Aging Plan priorities.
A Capstone Team of graduate students from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Public Health provided valuable assistance in the planning process and developed the presentation of results.
