Thanks to Hwy 55 Burgers for hosting fundraiser

Pittsboro, NC – I publicly want to thank Cassie and Phillip Kinney, owners of Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries in Pittsboro, for all their hard work and generosity in hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser to benefit SonShine & Blessings on Saturday, May 14, 2016. I thank them also for giving their time, place of business, tickets to be sold, various paper and plastic products and other breakfast related items to make the event possible. A special thanks also goes to two of their employees who volunteered their time to help cook! The food was delicious and the fellowship was great!

Hwy 55 Burgers in PittsboroPlease be sure to support their business and thank them for the work they do to help support SonShine & Blessings and other local non-profits.

Also, I want to thank the many people who helped to sell tickets, get the word out about the event (including the Chatlist and Gene Galin), came to work, and of course, all those who came to eat and support the cause.

Saturday, I watched a whole bunch of people, some of which I knew very well and some I didn’t know at all, come together at the crack of dawn (some did anyway :)), to work, fellowship, and support SonShine & Blessings..a cause very dear to my heart! I got to see and visit with current board members, volunteers, students and clients as well as quite a few past students, friends, family, and even strangers. I was blessed!!

An elderly couple who just learned about SS&B, approached me and asked me some questions. The wife has Parkinson’s and they had formed a support group for Parkinson’s-affected families. They asked for ten brochures to take back to all the people in their support group! That, in and of itself, made Saturday and all the work involved in getting it put together worth the effort for me! 🙂

A special thank you to my husband, Mike, SS&B’s board members, volunteers and supporters, to Hanks Chapel Church’s Youth and leader, Abbie, to Ruth, and to all my friends and family who came out to help. I pray that God will bless each and every one of you for your efforts!
