Pittsboro, NC – Are you interested in transportation issues around Chatham County? You can learn about and help shape recommendations on transportation issues by serving on the county’s Transportation Advisory Committee. The committee has three vacancies and the deadline to apply is Friday, June 10, 2016.
The committee identifies and studies transportation issues and makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners. Members are appointed by the county commissioners.
The committee especially needs members with an interest or expertise in one or more of the following areas: freight/commercial transport (including agricultural), non-motorized travel, public transportation, and public safety (including emergency responders and law enforcement). They also would like to have more representation from western and southeastern Chatham.
The online volunteer application form can be found at www.chathamnc.org and look for the Quick Links dropdown box at the top of the page. The application is the fourth option in the dropdown box. You also may contact Debra Henzey at 919-542-8258 to have a printed copy mailed or emailed to you.
The committee typically meets every other month on the fourth Tuesday at 6 pm in Pittsboro. To find out more about the committee, visit www.chathamnc.org/Index.aspx?page=1323 or contact Cara Coppola at 919-545-8365.
