Goathouse Refuge of Pittsboro is a finalist to get donations from sales of Sun Dog 130

Concord, NC – Southern Grace Distilleries, of Concord, NC is  sponsoring a contest to pick a North Carolina animal shelter to receive a donation for every bottle sold of their award-winning Sun Dog 130 Moonshine sold in North Carolina in 2016. Southern Grace Distilleries announced this week they are moving their distilling operations to a former NC Prison in Cabarrus County this fall.

The Goathouse Refuge is among the ten organizations competing in the final round of voting to choose the 2016 winner. The winner of the 2015 Sun Dog 130 contest was Friends of Animal Services of Onslow County. It was chosen by an online vote on Facebook. “It has been a gift to have the support of Southern Grace Distilleries throughout this year. Their generosity has allowed us to provide additional funds in cases of medical emergencies to help shelter pets with life altering surgeries; giving them an opportunity for health and happiness that would otherwise not have been possible. To everyone that has purchased Sun Dog 130, you have helped to make the world of our shelter friends a better place. Thank you,” said Jennifer Monteforte, Friends of Animal Services.

Sun Dog 130People who want to support the Goathouse Refuge can vote for them in the competition that ends at midnight on May 31st. The contest is being conducted on Facebook and the finalist won the opportunity to compete in the final round after initially competing with more than 60 shelters who qualified to participate. To vote for a shelter, go to www.facebook.com/southerngracedistilleries.com.

Sun Dog 130 is a NC made corn whiskey was awarded a gold medal at the 2015 San Diego International Spirits Competition and a silver medal in Louisville, KY at the 2015 American Craft Spirits Competition.
