One hundred twenty students and 28 teams participated in the tournament, with nine community colleges in attendance from North Carolina. Cole and Jarmon, who are Precalculus/Trigonometry students at CCCC, competed in both the individual and team competition.

The individual competition champion was Thien Lam of Georgia Perimeter College (Dunwoody). The UNG-Gainesville Team 1 won the team competition.

“We had a great time,” said CCCC Math Instructor Kaan Ozmeral, who noted that many of the students in the competition were Calculus I or II students. “Jarrett and Dylan are already looking forward to the N.C. competition in the fall when they will be in Calculus.”
