Pittsboro, NC – Three Chatham County men were apprehended after robbing a General Dollar store in Alamance County.
At approximately 4 p.m. on Feb. 12, Chatham County deputies assisted following a report of an armed robbery in Orange County, near the Chatham County line. Multiple deputies responded to the area to assist Orange County with locating the suspect.
Witnesses on scene were able to provide first responders with vehicle and suspect descriptions as well as a possible direction of travel. A thorough search of the area yielded no suspect or suspicious vehicle.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on the same day, deputies were notified of another armed robbery in Alamance County, also near the Chatham County line. The suspect and vehicle descriptions from Alamance County matched the descriptions obtained from Orange County.
Chatham County deputies responded to the Alamance County line and assisted Alamance County deputies with apprehending the suspects, who were attempting to flee the area.
Steven Rashun Scotten, 30, of 804 N. Chatham St., Siler City; Larry Donnell Foxx, 33, of 61 Lee St., Pittsboro; and Omar Sharif Reaves, 36, of 1230 Adolph Taylor Road, Pittsboro were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. Scotten was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon, a .22 caliber Beretta handgun, and simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance.
The men were charged after allegedly robbing a Dollar General store in southern Alamance County.
