Siler City candidates’ forum set for September 17

Siler City, NC – The Chatham unit of the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham and Chatham counties is holding a forum for the public to hear from the candidates for Siler City mayor and town commissioners.

Local Elections MatterThe forum will be held on Thursday September 17, in room 230 at the Siler City campus of Central Carolina Community College, located at 400 Progress Boulevard, Siler City, from 6 – 8 pm.

Both candidates for mayor have been invited to present opening remarks, followed by a question and answer period, and then closing remarks. Since the town commissioner seats are unopposed, commissioner candidates will not participate in the question and answer period, but have been offered the ability to make a statement at the end of the mayoral question and answer time.

Members of the League of Women Voters will be available to register voters and provide information about voting rights. The forum is free and open to the public.
