Pittsboro, NC – Chatham County is excited to announce the Heart of Chatham, a new employee recognition program that celebrates County employees who provide exceptional service and make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents, visitors, coworkers, and the community.
Every day, Chatham County employees demonstrate dedication through their commitment to public service, collaboration, and problem-solving. The Heart of Chatham provides an opportunity to recognize those employees whose actions go above and beyond expectations, demonstrate outstanding initiative, and create positive experiences for those they serve.
The program is open to nominations from both County employees and members of the public. Whether an employee provided extraordinary customer service, solved a challenging problem, or made a lasting impact through compassion and professionalism, residents and employees alike are encouraged to help recognize the individuals whose dedication strengthens the community every day.
“The Heart of Chatham recognizes the people who make our organization stronger every day,” said Chatham County Manager Bryan Thompson. “Our employees are committed to serving the public with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. This program gives residents and coworkers an opportunity to recognize those who go the extra mile and exemplify the values that make Chatham County a great place to live, work, and visit.”
To submit a nomination, individuals should provide specific details about the employee’s actions and the difference those actions made. Nominations are reviewed based on several factors, including the employee’s impact, initiative, and quality of service.
Strong nominations include:
• A specific example or situation
• The actions taken by the employee
• The impact or outcome of those actions
• How the employee demonstrated initiative or exceeded normal job expectations
Reviewers will consider whether the employee:
• Made a meaningful difference for a resident, visitor, or coworker
• Demonstrated initiative beyond routine responsibilities
• Provided exceptional service through professionalism, empathy, and effective communication
