ACC announces dates and sites for 2023 fall sports championships

Charlotte, NC – The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced its 2023 championship dates and sites for its fall sports.

As previously announced, the 19th annual ACC Football Championship Game will return to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 13th time in 14 years on Saturday, December 2. The 2023 championship game will be the first under the ACC’s new scheduling model for 2023-26, which includes all teams competing in one division with the top two teams based on winning percentage participating in the championship game.
The first ACC Championships of the 2023-24 academic year will be held on Oct. 27, as Florida State welcomes Cross Country to Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Florida. Both ACC soccer champions will be crowned at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, with the women’s championship game on Nov. 5 and the men’s on Nov. 12. The field hockey championship will be hosted by Virginia from Oct. 31-Nov. 3.
Volleyball again will determine its champion based on regular-season results.
Last season, the ACC claimed three NCAA championships during the 2022 fall season – NC State in Women’s Cross Country, North Carolina in Field Hockey, and Syracuse in Men’s Soccer. In addition, the conference had two of the four teams in both the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championships semifinals in North Carolina and Florida State, with North Carolina reaching the championship game, and the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championships semifinals with Syracuse and Pitt. The ACC also had two teams comprise half of the NCAA Volleyball Championships semifinals in Pitt and Louisville, with Louisville reaching the championship match.
