Pittsboro, NC –
In May 2020, members of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in the Pittsboro area. Investigators recovered fingerprints and surveillance footage of the suspect, who was later identified as Tarik Jihad Greene, 24, of Lady Jane Loop, Apt. 303, Manassas, VA.

Warrants for Greene’s arrest were issued on May 20, 2020, with charges including twenty-seven counts of felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, nine counts of felony financial card theft, three counts of felony larceny of a firearm, three counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm, three counts of felony financial transaction card fraud, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, fourteen counts of misdemeanor larceny, fourteen counts of possession of stolen goods, five counts of misdemeanor transaction card fraud, eight counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, injury to personal property, and four counts of attempted breaking and entering.
Greene was arrested on May 26 by the South Hill Police Department of Virginia on unrelated charges and subsequently extradited to North Carolina. He was transferred into the custody of the Chatham County Detention Center and assigned a $100,000.00 secured bond. Greene is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on July 20, 2020.
