Pittsboro police seek help with hit & run traffic crash

Pittsboro, NC – On Wednesday, June 27 at 10:13 pm the Pittsboro Police Department was dispatched to a traffic crash in the 500 block of Sanford Rd. Mikhail Dominique Bland (27 years old) and Natasha Vara Kricker (30 years old), both of 164 E. Cornwallis St. in Pittsboro, were struck by a vehicle while walking in the street on Sanford Rd. The vehicle that struck them fled the scene.

Pittsboro Fire-Rescue, First Health of the Carolinas, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to assist with the traffic crash. Both Bland and Kricker were transported to the UNC Hospitals emergency department with injuries. Bland was treated at the hospital and released. Kricker was admitted to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Witnesses reported last seeing the suspect vehicle, possibly a dark-colored van or sport utility vehicle, fleeing north on Sanford Rd toward US 64 Business. The vehicle will likely have front end damage. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Lieutenant S.
