Pittsboro, NC – If you are interested in how Pittsboro will look, feel, and work in the not so distant future, now is the time learn more about the proposed Unified Development Ordinance. [UDO]
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Town of Pittsboro regulates development within its planning jurisdiction through a number of development regulations – including zoning, subdivision, floodplain management, riparian buffer, stormwater management, and lighting regulations. Many of the current development regulations are out of date, unclear, difficult to understand, and do not reflect the Town’s adopted goals and objectives. This project seeks to transform those regulations into a single Unified Development Ordinance that is more user-friendly, incorporates modern best practices, and lays the foundation for a more livable community.
A Draft UDO has been prepared for public review, and subsequent consideration by the Pittsboro Town Board of Commissioners. Information about the Draft UDO, including summaries about the project and links to download the Draft UDO and other related project documents, can be found here on the project’s website: www.pittsboroudo.com
A public information meeting has been scheduled to provide an additional opportunity for the Pittsboro Community to obtain information about the project and the Draft under review, and to ask questions about the Draft.
