Pittsboro, NC – The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (the Food Bank) announced that its Chef’s Feast at Fearrington event, held March 22 at Fearrington Village, raised enough funds to provide 900,000 meals.
The event featured four courses of delicious food from local and regional chefs, wine and beer pairings, and a live auction. The evening was made possible by presenting partner US Foods.
“US Foods is honored to have a strong partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. By working together, we believe we can make an impactful difference in the lives of the more than 600,000 community members directly benefiting from the Food Bank’s services,” said Smokey Norris, US Foods area president for East North Carolina. “We are proud to be a part of Chef’s Feast at Fearrington and we encourage other businesses across the area to join the Food Bank in the fight against hunger in Eastern North Carolina.”

In the Food Bank’s 34-county service area, nearly 630,000 people live in food insecure household and have trouble accessing enough food, especially healthy food.
