Apex, NC – On February 22, the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office received a call of breaking and entering and larceny off of NC HWY 751, Apex. Three victims reported multiple items stolen, including assorted work tools and two firearms. Investigators searched pawn records and discovered that some of the stolen items were pawned in Sanford by Christopher Shane Lancaster, 27, of 2628 NC HWY 751, Apex. Interestingly, Lancaster was one of the victims who filed a report. On March 1, deputies recovered a number of items including a hammer drill, ladder, leaf blower, and weed eater from the pawn shop before placing Lancaster under arrest.
Lancaster is charged with felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts of felony larceny of a firearm, three counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, larceny, three counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense, false report to a police station, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lancaster was assigned a $15,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court in Pittsboro on March 26.
