Who’s running in the 2015 municipal elections in Chatham County?

Pittsboro, NC -The 2015 election season has begun and there are several municipal elections in Chatham County this year. Municipal elections for the Town of Cary will be held on October 6. Municipal elections for the Towns of Pittsboro, Siler City, Goldston and the Goldston Gulf Sanitary District will be held on November 3, 2015.

Vote Here SignCandidate filing began on Monday July 6, 2015 at 8 am and ends at noon on Friday, July 17, 2015 at noon.

As of July 8, there are no candidates for Pittsboro Town mayor. There are currently three candidates for three open positions on the Pittsboro Town Commission. They are Oakley A. Bennett (314 Chatham Forest Drive Pittsboro, NC 27312 919-542-2157), Casey Mann (185 Toomer Loop Rd. Pittsboro, NC 27312 919-830-8122) and Beth Turner (80 Circle Drive Pittsboro, NC 27312 919-444-3759).

There are no candidates for any of the Goldston town offices.

In Siler City, John Grimes (513 W. Glendale St.) has applied to run for mayor. There are four candidates for open Siler City commissioner spots.
