Dasher & Howard win Democratic primary for Chatham County commissioner seats

Pittsboro, NC – Mike Dasher and Karen Howard won Tuesday’s Chatham County Democratic primary for the two open county commissioner seats.

The unofficial election results show that in the district 1 Chatham County Commissioner Democratic primary, incumbent Karen Howard had 9,916 votes (80.29%) to challenger Danny Jenkins’ 2,434 votes (19.71%). In the district 2 Chatham County Commissioner Democratic primary, challenger Mike Dasher had 7,097 votes (57.02%) to incumbent Mike Cross’ 5,350 votes (42.98%).

Howard will face a Republican challenger in the November general elections. Dasher will run unopposed.

A total of 22,737 votes (47.07%) out of a potential 48,305 votes were cast in the 2016 Chatham County primary election.
