Chatham commissioners urge participation in Big Sweep Day at Jordan Lake

In a proclamation that says everyone should “contribute to keeping our environment clean and healthy by working to preserve clean water and the natural beauty of our surroundings,” the Chatham County Board of Commissioners declared Oct. 1 to be Big Sweep Day. As part of the event, Clean Jordan Lake (CJL) is planning a massive attack on trash along the Jordan Lake shoreline on Oct. 1 as part of NC Big Sweep activities taking place across the state and seeks volunteers to help.
